Welcome

Survey

This past year has been an exciting one filled with ideas about how to improve the chapter, expand the membership and increase member satisfaction.  But we can do more.  The Board and Officers invite you to add your voice to the process by taking a brief membership survey.

Please follow the link below and fill out the anonymous, online survey regarding meeting logistics, education opportunities and meeting programs.  This should take no more than five (5) minutes.

Chapter Meetings

November Meeting

Join us in Seattle on Wednesday, November 12th at Rock Salt for our monthly Cascadia Chapter meeting.

5:00 - 6:00PM  Social Hour
6:00 - 7:00PM  Dinner and Business Meeting
7:00 - 8:00PM  Program:  The Maspeth Facility, Rahul Nagalkar

How a Positive Attitude and a Willingness to Adapt an Agency Design Benefits Everyone"   This project was designed and developed in-house by DEP (The Owner) staff which typically would hire a design consultant. Certainly the in-house design team was proud of their design, but they not only participated in the VE Workshop with an open mind but went as far as redesigning from scratch.

Please RSVP to Andrea Ball by Monday November 10th.  Hope to see you there!

Holiday Party Announcement

One of the recommendations made over the past months was to incorporate more social activities into the Chapter.  So, at your request, we’re having a Holiday Party in lieu of a business meeting in December.

Join us Wednesday, December 10th at the Pyramid Ale House in Seattle from 5-8 PM for the Cascadia Holiday Party!

Free food, free drinks (at least the first two!) and lots of free parking.

Guests, colleagues, anyone whom you think would benefit from knowing us – all are welcome.

Please RSVP to Andrea Ball by Friday, December 5.

Follow Up on Tips n' Tricks from October Meeting

Our October program consisted of helpful hints, useful tools and items our members have found they cannot live without when doing a study.  Below are some of the highlights.  See the meeting minutes for a full listing and links.

Getting there – noise-cancelling headphones or earplugs; water; adhesive heat packs; Amazon’s Kindle; Victorinix Swiss Army wheeled carry-on bag with removable laptop pocket; and, any sort of GPS unit available.

Once there – IBM ThinkPad; InFocus ultra compact projector; portable document camera; iGo universal adapter; rechargeable solar battery charger; and, mini-surge protectors.

Making connections – GoToMeeting for virtual meetings; Box.net for document sharing; and, GoToMyPC for access to the home computer.

Have your own favorite gadget or tool?  Email Andrea Ball and we’ll get your ideas up on the website.

Congratulations!
